Tony Ward furniture is manufactured in our own factory and subject to a rigorous quality control procedure.
Used, stored and cared for correctly, it will give you good serviceable life and excellent value for money.
The following information will help you to enjoy your furniture for years to come.

 

Natural Beauty

Timber is a natural product and as such it should be understood that colour grain and features will vary throughout. 
This is part of the random nature of timber and contributes towards its aesthetic quality.
Variations in ambient conditions may reveal hairline cracks that will open and close. This is a normal characteristic and should not give cause for concern.

 

Environment

Our furniture is manufactured from Scandinavian Joinery quality redwood. This timber is sourced predominantly from FSC accredited mills. Softwood is a very environmentally sound material, certainly more so than steel, aluminium and plastic. Care and Protection

This look will alter over time as a result of exposure to sunlight and moisture. The furniture will darken with age and take on a more rustic appearance that is complimentary to the natural environment, in which it is placed.
This is quite normal and many customers appreciate the aesthetics of a natural appearance.

 

However, if you would rather maintain its smart new appearance, it is recommended to apply a proprietary brand of SOLVENT BASED decorative wood preserver once every season.
Naturally, the sooner you make the first application, the better the level of protection.
We have tried many brands and had great results with the ‘Wickes' brand  Decking & Garden Woodstain and Preserver (Autumn Chestnut).

 

You can avoid much of the effect of sunlight and moisture by storing your furniture undercover over the winter months.

 

Range of Decorative Preservative Options

Tony Ward furniture is available in a range of preservative options. Refer to the table for information regarding available finishes.

 

Standard
Treated with a machine applied oil based formulation that gives good protection from the effects of moisture, sunlight .
This product gives the furniture a beautiful golden brown appearance.

 

Double Coat
Twice treated with a machine applied oil based formulation to give extra depth to the finish and even greater protection  .

 

Tanalith E (Green Treated)
Impregnated with an environmental formulation that is specified for timber in high exposure locations giving very long service life expectations up to 15 years.
The natural finish is a light green that is attractive and complimentary to a natural environment. Tanalith E is a very effective protection against all forms of rot and fungal decay.

 

Ultimate Protection
Fabricated from components that have been subject to the pressure impregnated with Tanalith ‘E'  treatment and further protected with our oil based decorative preservative. We find that this combination represents the optimum in service life and colour fastness and is typically specified for furniture used in commercial applications.
